Maltatal-Sonnseite hunting grounds of Dr. Zundel's forestry administration zone in the Malta valley
Hunting opportunities and hunting experiences in the outside region of the National Park Hohe Tauern in a privately owned hunting range of approx. 3,200 ha, at an altitude of 1,100 to 3,000 metres above sea level.
The characteristic vegetation of the hunting range are spruces, larches and Swiss pines, crowned by alpine pastures along mountain amphitheatres and cirques.
A dense network of forest paths and routes totalling approx. 50 km is accessible by car up to an altitude of 1,800 m above sea level, where two comfortably furnished hunting cabins are open for hunting guests.
The prevailing game in the region are chamois.
Their natural habitat is mainly above the timber line on steep alpine pastures. Hunting here is strenuous, but reasonably fit hunters will remember the chamois hunt as a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Likewise, hunting for deer in the rutting season (20 September to 10 October), where the bellows of the stags resound in a never-ending, grumbling echo from the circuits and the steep mountain slopes, is another unique, unforgettable experience. Hunting takes place from a raised stand or through deerstalking. The quality of the antlers is typical for mountain stags — thin and with short branches, but multi-pronged.
Professional hunters will make every effort to offer hunting guest an exciting, beautiful and memorable hunting experience.
